How long does it take to receive my cabinets?
Once you have finalized your design for production to begin, it usually takes anywhere from 5-10 business days for the cabinets to be cut, assembled and shipped. Depending on where you are in the country, transportation can take anywhere from several days to a week. Please keep in mind that if you are a residential location, the freight company will need to schedule an appointment with you before delivering.
I love my EXT cabinets but I really need a hole or a piece cutout to accomodate what I want, what is the best way to do this?
HDPE is not that difficult to cut however, once it is cut, you will not be able to properly repair it so you need to make sure it is done right the first time. We recommend hiring a professional carpenter to do your cuts to make sure it gets done right if you do not have the experience necassary.
Why don’t you offer a normal shaker door like they have for indoor cabinets?
Quality and price are our top two priorities when it comes to what we offer. The designs we offer allow us to keep the structual integrity of our cabinets without raising the costs. To create a typical 2 panel type shaker door, each door would have to use double the material. One piece that gets cut out as the outer frame with a recessed groove, and another panel that sits inside this groove. Due to the extreme costs of the HDPE material, we try to avoid offering designs that will raise your cost oer cabinet. If a true shaker is comething you really need, contact us and we will give you pricing for it.
I saw a door design somewhere, can you create something like it?
Its possible. Send us a picture of the design you would like and we will let you know if it is something we can accomodate or not.
What separates EXT Cabinets from other companies selling outdoor kitchens and cabinets?
Unlike other companies, we create all cabinets ourselves. When you walk in to an outdoor kitchen showroom, they are simply the reseller which means they are marking the inventory up. That fancy expensive showroom is not cheap to build and maintain, all of that means substantial markups
What Makes EXT better quality than other companies?
Most companies will use hardieboard, stainless steel, HDF (aka “weatherboard”) or some other cheaper material for their bases. They will hold up to outdoor conditions for a few years but they will inevitably show their wear. We only use Polyethylene HDPE which will never wear, warp or stain. To give you an idea of cost, Hardieboard 4′ x 8′ panels cost around $48 each. The cost for a 4′ x 8′ panel of HDPE ranges from $450 up to $680 for wood grain textures. Cabinets made out of hardieboard or other kinds of “weatherboard” are just a way for companies the maximize profit while sacrificing quality. We take no shortcuts here.
How do I maintain my HDPE cabinets?
Just rinse them down with soap and water when they start to get dirty. It is hard for anything to stick to the HDPE material which is why adhesives will not work on it, which means cleaning them of dirt and debris is very easy. You do not need to worry about cleaning them frequently as they are very tough to stain even when put under the harshest conditions.
How heavy are the cabinets?
Depending on the size of each cabinet and interior options, they can range from 100 pounds to several hundred pounds each. They are indeed heavy and that is exactly what you want for an outdoor cabinet. These cabinets are not going anywhere without help. Do you offer any discounts or sales promotions?
We typically do not offer any sales or specials because our prices are already the lowest in the industry in addition to being the highest quality. We do however guarantee that you will get the absolute best price anywhere and we wil beat any competitors quote and also give you a 10% discount on top of that.
What countertop material do you recommend?
Selecting a proper countertop depends on different factors. What you plan on using the cabinets for and what your budget is. Granite and porcelain are both popular options, however it is best to consult with a local stone company to get pricing and countertop options. We do highly recommend going to at least 3 different places to get prices to make sure you’re receiving the best pricing possible.
Will your HDPE material fade, warp or change color being exposed to the sun?
No it will not. HDPE is the only material suitable for boat furniture and cabinets and storage simply because it is so impervious to the elements. It is why you will see HDPE used in high end patio furniture shops.
I have a weird/odd space that I would like to utilize better, can you help with that?

How do I move these cabinets? They are so heavy!
We recommend furniture moving dollys with a lifter with at least a 500 pound capacity. For moving with 2 people, we reccomend a forearm forklift strap system that can easily be found online.
What type of grill should I purchase?
You will need a built in grill with an insulating jacket for proper installation. We recommend Blaze grills for a quality product at a really good price point. If you want top of the line, go with the Lynx brand of cabinets as they are known for the highest quality, warranty and service.
How difficult are EXT Cabinets to install?
Extremely easy. All Cabinets come fully assembled minus the door and drawer hardware. They attach to each other using male/female “chicago” style screws which only require the use of a screwdriver. Once Cabinets are in place, simply turn the feet by hand to level them so you can then connect them together with the necassary screws. Everything to install will be included with your order.
