Our story starts with the desire to redo our very own outdoor kitchen. We knew we wanted to tear down our existing outdoor unit which looked much older than the 12 years of age that it was. Building it out of the same material would feel like repeating the same mistake we originally made and would wind up with us being in the same position wanting to replace it once again after 10 or so years. Hardy board, stucco and stacked stone structures with welded frame sound like something that is going to last for eternity but when you take a look at any one of these types of outdoor kitchens after just a few years they look weathered, stones fall off, the stucco flakes and chips and rusts. Not to mention the lack of storage, function and features. Most concrete/stucco based structures don’t even have a floor bottom inside to place stuff!

Indoor kitchens have been perfected so much so that little has changed in the last few decades. Cabinets that serve function, have storage and features such as trash pullouts and trays and shelves are not only practical, but they also look good. Why can’t we take what we have done on our inside and make them as useful and beneficial for our outside kitchen? It all comes down to the material. Wood is simply not an option because it will quickly fall apart outdoors, so we needed to find a material that is impervious to any and all outdoor conditions. When we started looking at what the marine/boating industry uses for their cabinets we knew we found exactly what we needed: HDPE or technically known as High Density Polyethylene. HDPE is completely water and weather proof and comes in sheets just like plywood that is used to build indoor cabinetry. Not only can HDPE be used to construct cabinet boxes, it also machines easier and there is no need to paint it or sand it. The only downfall was its high price tag which is why we work directly with a plastic factory to buy in bulk 4 colors that allow us to offer the absolute best priced outdoor HDPE cabinets in the world.
